Based on the topography plot, The highest elevation is in the western part and the lowest is in the eastern part of Jambi Province.

Jambi Province has two seasons namely the dry season and the rainy season. the dry season generally occurs in the April-September period and vice versa the rainy season in the period October - March. 

In general the rainy season will peak in November, December and January. the rainfall rate will decrease slightly in February and will subsequently increase again in March and April. Entering the month of May, rainfall will continue to decline for later to become the dry season until September. the peak of the dry season is June, July and August.
